One of the easiest and most effective ways to relieve a headache is to drink at least 3-4 glasses of water and lie down. Usually, headache is a body’s way to tell that it needs to be hydrated.
A low protein and carbohydrate (starch vegetables and whole grains) rich diet is best for people suffering from migraines and frequent headaches. I always try to avoid fried foods as fried fats are rich in aldehydes that can trigger migraine attacks. Try to prepare your foods by steaming them or eating them raw.
Also try to eliminate dairy products (especially cheese), sugars, and nuts which all contain tyramine, another awful substance that can trigger migraines. It’s also important to reduce intake of caffeine, alcohol and tobacco. Keep yourself hydrated with water, vegetable and fruit juices to rid body of the toxins that are the main culprits of headaches.
It’s helpful if you increase intake of magnesium rich foods, such as wheat germ, wheat bran, brown rice, soybeans, fruits and vegetables.
Drinks Can Do Wonders!
Migraines/headaches are sometimes triggered by toxins in the body. You can flush them out with juices. Drink green apple and carrot juice (at least 2 glasses a day) for reducing migraine attacks. I’ve being doing this for past 3 years. They also help regular bowel movements and maintain cleaner colon over time.
Green vegetable juices are best, as they help clean and heal the system. Magnesium and calcium (from green vegetables) are important combination that can help prevent and relieve migraines and headaches.
