You already know that caffeine dehydrates, so if you get frequent headaches it’s better to avoid it and instead drink more fluids, such as water, decaf teas, coffees and sodas, and juices. Caffeine can quickly cause “rebound” effect which means it can temporarily get you fid of the headache, but it will soon return back much worse than before. So filter out caffeine from your diet even though you may experience withdrawals for days, it is well worth the temporary suffering.
Some strange remedies that can help relieve your headaches:
Add 2-3 teaspoons of fine mustard powder in a hot footbath and soak your feet in the water for 25-30 minutes.
Drinking ginger tea can help you in coping with the symptoms of migraine, such as nausea, in a much better way. Ginger root has certain properties which help it in blocking prostiglandins, compounds that stimulate muscle contractions and lead to headaches. it’s best to take at least 3-6 grams of ginger daily to feel better.
You just need to place few drops of this oil on your neck, forehead, and temples. It has been observed that breathing in this soothing oil can ease symptoms. However, keep it away from your eyes!
If you feel your headache is coming on, immediately take a short walk. This can relax you and also your circulatory system so that more oxygen and blood can get to the brain.
Put one teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a glass of water and drink it slowly. It will dilute blood vessels and boost circulation.
Take 2-3 teaspoons of honey with each meal. Honey is rich in magnesium and potassium which helps in relaxing arteries and allow more blood flow to the brain.

In order to relieve pressure created in the body, you need to put just five drops of sesame oil in your nostril once a day till your migraine attack lasts. Inhale it deeply to get the desired effect. Sesame oil also relieves gases that increase head pressure and induces relaxation in your body.
Inhale Essential Oils
Include essential oils like lavender, rosemary and jasmine could help in relieving pain. Soothing scents can reduce your pain and ease some tension by directly attacking its triggers. Stress is the biggest trigger of migraine headache and luckily lavender oil also acts as mild sedative that also helps you calm down. Similarly, rosemary oil has properties to treat hormonal imbalances, which is the biggest cause of migraine in women. Just add six to 10 drops in lukewarm water and take deep breaths so as to inhale the steam.
Make fine paste of nutmeg by crushing it and diluting it with water. Now apply it on your forehead. This will help in relieving a headache as it promotes sleep.
